Through the State WIC program, Healthfirst offers a free, weekly, virtual breastfeeding class option that provides you with basic information and the general how-to’s of breastfeeding! Classes are offered every Monday in English and every Tuesday in Spanish. Reach out to your Peer Counselor or WIC staff if you are interested in joining one of these classes!
In addition to the State WIC program’s Breastfeeding Class, Healthfirst offers a monthly in-person or virtual support group for any breastfeeding or non-breastfeeding postpartum individuals. The meetings are participant-led and serve as an opportunity to talk through any postpartum struggles (or successes!). A Healthfirst Mental Health Counselor and Breastfeeding Peer Counselor are present in these meetings to educate and help guide discussion when necessary.
